If you are anything like me it’s around now that you realise you are not quite ready for the big day. I don’t mean the bigger things. The tree is up, obviously! Key presents are bought, Christmas Dinner is sorted. But it’s the sneaky stocking fillers that are lagging. Thankfully The Mart Food Shop is here to save you with some last minute foodie gifts.
So here’s my tasty (last minute) stocking filler treats for my sister and her family.
SISTER
My sister and I have similar tastes so buying for her is easy. I just buy her exactly what I want.
And of course these Crumbly Goat Cheese Biscuits are top of my list. I think I may have slipped my love of goat cheese into every blog so far. But hey, it’s not all about me.
Another love of mine ;)))) is Bloody Mary’s. And oh yeah my sister loves it too. So this Hawkshead Bloody Mary Ketchup is perfect. It’s flavoured with celery, spice, white wine vinegar and Vodka of course. Check out Hawkshead massive range of sauces and pickles. I guarantee there is a foodie gift for everyone on your list.
Have supped many-a-tasty G&T together over the years a gin related gift is a must. So this Rhubarb and Gin Chutney by the Snowdonia Cheese Company is perfect. They do many other yummy Christmassy combo’s like, Pear, Date and Cognac and Spiced Tomato & Vodka Chutney.
BROTHER-IN-LAW
It’s always a little bit harder buying for your in-laws but actually my brother-in-law is a real foodie so actually I could buy him the whole shop. The challenge then is narrowing things down.
The Snowdonia Black Bomber Extra Mature Cheddar is an ideal last minute foodie gift. The black wax looks so appealing that it needs no other wrapping. And any cheese lover would relish cutting into this thick coating and inhaling that first cheese waft. And that’s all before you taste it!
The Mart’s Mixed Citrus & Drambuie Marmalade is the shop’s owner, Neil’s own product. When a gift has a story behind it shows there’s a bit more thought gone into it. I think my brother-in-law will enjoy that this is locally made and from the store I work for.
NIECES
Because sisters are so good at sharing (ha, ha, ha), I have bought my two nieces joint foodie, stocking fillers. Lucky there are two types of tasty Stag Cheese Straws, the Smoked Dunlop Cheese and the Strathdon Blue. So they can have a box each if necessary ; )
They have two very different sweet treats. A Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh Dark Chocolate bar from Rococo Chocolates. And Rowntree Randoms, because I still remember fondly the phase where everything was erm….”RANDOM!”.
And lastly for their festive mocktails and cocktails I know they will love Opies Cocktail Cherries.
