We’re a growing shop and community hub in East Linton, the heart of East Lothian, just forty minutes from central Edinburgh. Originally known as Knowe’s Farm Shop, we’ve been part of East Lothian for more than a quarter of a century. We couldn’t be prouder to call this beautiful part of the world home, and our loyal customers make running The Mart Farm Shop a joy.
Since the beginning, our mission has remained the same: wherever possible to provide our community with quality local Scottish produce and a first-class shopping and eating experience.
Our gourmet greengrocer has gone from strength to strength. We hand select every item in the shop and have a close relationship with our local Scottish growers, suppliers and farmers. You’ll find free range meat, eggs, dairy, artisan cheese, and local, sustainable fruit and vegetables. Pop in to discover our full range! We also stock specialty world foods and home-made ready meals. Whether you want to sort tea for tonight or stock up for a feast for twenty, you’ve come to the right place.
If you’d like to stay for a little longer, we would love to welcome you to our café. Our menu has a range of tarts, soups and pies and is prepared for you in our shop. You can also explore our gift shop. If it’s services you’re looking for, The Mart Farm Shop can help. The Farm Shop has a post office, a catering team and a professional dry cleaner.
Everything we do is built on our commitment to protect the planet. We focus our selection on local, seasonal produce that comes without unnecessary packaging wherever possible, we are continually pushing back on our suppliers to hold themselves to the same level of accountability. We’re lucky to have a wealth of outstanding farmers only a stone’s throw away who make this possible. In the long-term, our vision is to make The Mart Farm Shop a zero-waste shop. We’ve already taken our first steps towards this by opening a refill station.
We’re open every day from 09.00. Come on in any time to browse, chat, shop or relax. The post office and shop closes at 17.00 7 days a week, while the café closes at 16.30 and the traditional Sunday Market, Craft Fair and Car Boot Sale close at 14.30.
