A Beautiful French Red:

Château Baron Bellevue, Côtes de Bourg, Bordeaux £9.99 (usually £10.99)

Bordeux is one of the oldest wine producing regions in France. first planted by the Romans due to the strategic position of the port of Bourg. Mainly Merlot, this wine is typically ripe with wild bramble flavors, tasty tannins, and a lovely gutsy character. Vines are cultivated with a respect for the environment, without the use of insecticides. While claret is traditionally served with roast lamb, it is also a great cheese-wine. We recommend a farmhouse cheddar, or goats cheese. If you need any help pairing your wine, just have a quick chat with Sheena on the Cheese Counter.
